(INDIANAPOLIS) - The owners of a condemned Shelbyville trailer park are asking a federal judge to allow them to reopen.
Frank and Shirlene Sundvall say they were unfairly deprived of their right to due process. They claim in a lawsuit that the decision had already been made to close their Knightstown Village trailer park before the Shelbyville board of public works and safety voted to condemn it.
The board ordered the park closed on November 19th, citing unsafe and unsanitary conditions including mold, faulty roofs and various fire hazards.
