Trooper And K-9 Injured In Incident

(TELL CITY) - A state trooper and his K-9 were involved in a shooting.

Trooper Mark Lehmkuhler attempted to stop a pick-up truck near Tell City. The driver, 43-year-old Lawrence Sturgeon fled and later crashed.

A struggle ensued. Sturgeon was able to gain possession of the trooper's flashlight and struck the trooper and his K-9 in the head.

Both the trooper and K-9 were treated and released. Sturgeon was arrested.
