(EVANSVILLE) - Evansville police say rain may have contributed to a collision on the Lloyd Expressway that killed three people.
The crash occurred Sunday afternoon on the city's west side. Police say a car crossed a low concrete median from the eastbound lanes and was struck on the passenger side by an oncoming pickup truck. Police say it appears that the car hydroplaned in the rain.
The three people in the car were pronounced dead at the scene. They were not immediately identified. The two people in the pickup truck apparently suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
More than one inch of rain fell in Evansville on Sunday.
