(FISHERS) - Indianapolis and Fishers police are trying to determine if the human remains found in the area are those of a Fishers man reported missing in September 2006.
Fishers officials say 65-year-old Stanley Bray was reported missing by his wife. She described him at that as having "wanderlust," often taking unexpected trips without telling her.
Bray worked at the Sam's Club located next to a field and railroad tracks where the bones were discovered.
IMPD homicide detective Kevin Kelly says the case is simply a death investigation for now, until officials confirm the identity of the remains and how the person died.
Forensic anthropologist Steve Nawrocki with the University of Indianapolis is leading the team that will excavate and identify the remains.
