(INDIANAPOLIS) - One man is in custody after keeping the Indy Metro Police SWAT team at bay for awhile New Year’s Day.
It began with two men robbing three people at gunpoint on the east side of town. The pair then drove their van to a nearby strip mall. One of the men got out at some point and fled on foot.
When an officer approached the van, one of the suspects put a gun to his head and threatened to pull the trigger. The SWAT team and a hostage negotiator were then called in. The man was taken into custody a short time later.
Metro police now want to find the second suspect responsible for the robbery spree.
