(LAFAYETTE) - Lafayette’s police chief is headed for Afghanistan.
Chief Don Roush will leave in March for a six-month deployment with the U.S. Army Reserves. Roush has been in the military for 22 years, including 18 years with the Army Reserve.
Roush says several of his officers have served in "Operation Iraqi Freedom" over the last few years.
Deputy Chief David Payne will be the interim chief.
