(UNDATED) - If your New Year’s resolution is to lose weight in 2008, you’re not alone. And you’ll find plenty of advice on how to do it.
Dr. Gary Moore is a certified clinical nutritionist in Indianapolis. He says weight control is a lifestyle decision that requires two new habits.
First, portion control. Once you begin your new eating habit, Dr. Moore says give yourself time to adjust. With patience, he says your body can make that adjustment as quickly as a week.
The second habit to acquire is regular exercise. And if it's any consolation, even a nutritionist will occasionally stray from a diet over the holidays.
Dr. Moore recommends you start any exercise program gradually so you don't injure yourself. Before beginning any weight loss or exercise program, check with your doctor first.
