(RICHMOND) - Richmond has been designated as one of the USA’s “Preserve America” communities.
Mayor Sally Hutton says members from the city's historic preservation group applied for the program.
The group looks at preserving different structures such as homes of the late 1800s in the city.
The designation makes Richmond eligible to apply for federal planning grants ranging from $20,000 to $150,000.
