(UNDATED) - Illinois recently went smoke-free. But will it ever happen in Indiana?
A bill is moving through the legislature this spring that would essentially make most of the state smoke-free.
Danielle Patterson with the American Heart Association says the state desperately needs to be smoke-free, particularly for people who work in bars and casinos.
Many cities and towns around the state have at least partial smoke bans in place.
And even here in Bedford, more restaurants, most notably the Bob Evans on 16th street, are riding the same tide going smoke-free all on their own.
