(INDIANAPOLIS) - Artwork is one of the highlights of the new Indianapolis International Airport terminal currently under construction. Terrazzo floors and glass artwork adorn various areas of the terminal.
Tom Torluemke designed the two terrazzo art pieces, entitled the glory of sports in Indianapolis and a work of heart. He says he hopes the art will give travelers an uplifting feeling.
Michael Machnic designed the glass artwork called the cardinal points. The 120 foot long dividing wall uses images of a flying cardinal, which is the state bird, overlaid on an image of the city grid of Indianapolis.
The artworks are expected to be completed when the terminal opens October 28th.
