(INDIANAPOLIS) - Marion County’s chief public defender is sounding off on the arrest of one of his own.
David Cook says the arrest of Ryan Snyder is a "tragedy" for everyone involved. Snyder was arrested for attempting to solicit sex from a minor over the internet. Cook says it's sad to see someone that had a promising law career potentially "throw it away" over something like this.
Snyder and another man were both arrested as part of metro police's on-going internet sting operations.
Snyder could not only face jail time if convicted but lose his law license as well. Snyder was told not to report to work, pending a decision by corporation counsel.
Cook says it is the job of the public defender's office to uphold due process and that will be true in this case as well.
