(HUNTINGBURG) - City officials in Huntingburg have opened bids, for a new weather warning siren, which not only sounds an alarm for weather emergencies, but also serves as a loud speaker.
City Planning Director Ritchie Hazelwood says this type of audio alert system can be used during emergencies to both warn the public and perhaps give important information.
This new siren will be replace an old unit, which will be given a new home in a new area of the city.
