(MADISON) - The contract between the state of Kentucky and the design consultant for the Madison-Milton Bridge will be finalized by March.
Once the Kentucky General Assembly reviews the project, financing options will be considered. Currently, Kentucky lawmakers are considering adding tolls as a way to pay for needed bridge projects.
The new bridge is expected to cost $78.5 million, according to Kentucky's six-year project plan. It will be compatible with future U.S. 421 corridor extensions north to Interstate 74 and South to Interstate 71.
