Mother Nature Nicer Overnight Than Originally Predicted

Last updated on Friday, February 1, 2008

(INDIANAPOLIS) - After predictions of 6 to 8 inches of snow in the Indianapolis area overnight, less than two inches of snow had fallen, along with some sleet and freezing rain, as of Friday morning.

However, the National Weather Service says total snow accumulations will average 8 to 12 inches in Northern Indiana. Some ice and sleet could fall as well.

About 4 inches of snow was on the ground in Fort Wayne early Friday morning.

Numerous school closings were reported in the South Bend area. Only one early morning flight was listed as delayed at Indianapolis International Airport.
