(STATEHOUSE) - A bill set to be signed into law by the governor would slash the pay for Indiana sheriffs.
House Bill 1108 passed out of the Senate Wednesday. Marion County Sheriff Frank Anderson makes several hundred-thousand dollars, but this change won't affect him.
Sheriff's Attorney Kevin Murray says the pay change would take effect in November of 2010, following the next election.
Anderson can't run again because of term limits.
