(NEW ALBANY) - A living gift arrived in New Albany on Valentine’s Day.
A dozen firefighters came to the rescue of 22-year-old Krista Johnson. Johnson had just delivered a baby. In the back seat of a pickup right in front of the fire station.
Toni Catherine Valentine Deaver was born around 8:25 in the morning. The 5-pound13-ounce bundle of joy couldn't wait to be delivered in a hospital.
Her mother, father, and grandfather had been on their way to Floyd Memorial - but stopped at the station when the labor became too much for mom. By the time firefighters came out the station Johnson had delivered.
The mom and baby are doing well.
