(INDIANAPOLIS) - More and more videos of teenage girls fighting are popping up on the internet these days.
And because of it -- a new term is emerging, called "Violent Girl Syndrome." Dr. Margaret Keaton with the University of Indianapolis says this is a growing phenomenon and more girls are getting involved in simple assaults.
Keaton says the problem is teens are starved for attention and this is one quick way to get noticed.
Keaton says parents need to take a more active role in their kids' lives to try and steer them away from violent behavior.
Statistically, the number of simple assaults involving teenaged girls is up across the US, including in Central Indiana.
