(TRAVERSE CITY, MICH.) - Members of Congress want to know why a federal agency is withholding a report that describes potential health risks near 26 polluted areas of the Great Lakes region.
The U.S. Centers For Disease Control and Prevention was scheduled to release the report last summer but delayed it.
A draft of the report published earlier this month indicates many of the counties where the polluted areas are located have abnormally high rates of cancer and other health problems.
