(LAFAYETTE) - Food Finders Food Bank, Inc. in Lafayette was awarded a $13,000 grant last week for its backpack program from money raised during two episodes of “American Idol” on FOX Television.
The backpack program provides students in need up to 10 pounds of groceries each week to keep them nourished and focused.
The money will allow the program to expand services to 80 more students through may 2009.
