(TERRE HAUTE) - Major Hal Johnston is part of Indiana’s 76th infantry brigade combat team being deployed to Iraq this week. He is also the Knox County Chief Deputy Prosecutor and was previously the Vigo County Deputy Prosecutor.
He says the war in Iraq won't be won with tanks, bombers and jets. It will be won by rebuilding the Iraqi economy and infrastructure and getting to know and understand the Iraqi people.
Johnston says the military is learning from its mistakes in Vietnam and Iraq and making necessary changes.
