(LAPORTE) - Refunds totaling $33 million are going out to Nipsco Electric customers. If customers look hard enough, their electric bills reflect the “purchased power refund credit.”
On bills for February, March and April, an average household consumer is getting a credit of $5 a month, or 6 to 7 percent of the customer's electric costs businesses that are especially heavy users of electricity are seeing refunds of several thousands of dollars.
The refunds stem from an October settlement between Nipsco and LaPorte County, which has gained several victories over the utility in other cases in recent years.
