Last updated on Saturday, March 29, 2008

(LOWELL) - 25-pounds of crystal meth is now off the street, and Lake County sheriff’s say it’s the largest meth seizure in the history of the department.

On Friday, police arrested an Illinois man who they say had $1.2-million dollars worth of meth in a secret compartment in his car.

21-year-old Kevin Lozano was pulled over on a traffic stop on I-65 near Lowell. When a detective noticed how nervous he was, he searched the car - finding the meth in a secret compartment underneath a seat where his girlfriend's three kids were sitting.

Lozano is in Lake County Jail. His girlfriend - in FBI custody. The kids - in the care of child protective services.
