(INDIANAPOLIS) - After a four-month cleanup, water is again part of Indianapolis’ Downtown canal.
Refilling the canal will still take two to three days.
Crews used vacuums to remove 367 semi trailer loads of sludge and waste from the canal since cleanup work began in November. Approximately 9,000 fish were removed and relocated.
It will be ready for St. Patrick's Day Monday when the mayor traditionally dumps dye into the canal to turn it green.
