Salvation Army Program In Danger Of Closing

Last updated on Monday, March 10, 2008

(UNDATED) - A Salvation Army program is in danger of ending if more donations don’t come in quick.

Captain Joe Irvine says clothing and furniture donations to their family stores across Central Indiana have been down in the last few months because of the slowing economy and the frosty weather.

Irvine says sales from the donated goods go to fund the men's rehabilitation service.

The Salvation Army has already laid off several staffers that were part of the program. About 100 men take part - it teaches them how to get their lives back on track.

Donations can be made at Salvation Army family stores across the area.
