(TERRE HAUTE) - The death of the 4,000th U.S. Soldier in Iraq will be marked in the Wabash Valley Saturday at noon in front of the Vigo County Courthouse.
The event is sponsored by the local peace group Terre Haute Stop War On Iraq.
The event will include a short program at the beginning to honor soldiers who have died on the battlefield as well as the thousands who have died off the battlefield in hospitals.
Organizer Cathy McGuire said, "In the past 15 months Congress has approved $200 billion to continue the war."
She says the public must continue to let their elected officials know through phone calls and letters how much they want the war to end.
