(INDIANAPOLIS) - The faces of Indiana’s ethnic groups faced each other to acknowledge each other’s existence and talk about how to make the state more aware of its ethnic diversity.
The first annual Indiana multiethnic conference featured representatives from every ethnic group known in the state.
Carmen Derusha from the Purdue Extension Office says the goal of the conference was to celebrate Indiana's many cultures and talk about how to change the state's image to be more welcoming of the many peoples living here.
Derusha says the face of the Hoosier State has changed over the last 20 years and continues to change at a very rapid pace.
