(UNDATED) - A voluntary home visitation program is being praised by state leaders for promoting healthy families and preventing child abuse.
Healthy Families Indiana held an awards ceremony Monday in Indianapolis during it's annual conference to recognize the 56 sites serving all of Indiana's 92 counties.
Governor Mitch Daniels applauded the caseworkers behind the state-run program for helping other Hoosiers become nurturing parents. The program received accreditation from Prevent Child Abuse America during the ceremony.
Daniels was joined by State Department of Child Services Director James Payne and FSSA Secretary Mitch Roob.
