(INDIANAPOLIS) - A man convicted of murdering an 18-year-old Indianapolis woman nearly 19 years ago will likely spend the rest of his life in prison for the crime.
48-year-old David Ashworth was sentenced Wednesday to 60 years in prison for raping and murdering Lisa Joan Summers in 1989.
He was arrested in September 2006 in Florida after investigators used DNA evidence to link him to the killing.
Marion County Deputy Prosecutor David Wyser says DNA found on Summers' clothing and saliva on a cigarette proved that Ashworth committed the murder.
It took a jury less than an hour last month to agree.
