(CROWN POINT) - A Merrillville man could spend up to 85 years in prison after pleading guilty to the murder of a Gary woman and the attempted murder of her son.
Police say 22-year-old Sharde McKinney stabbed Nina Moss-Curtis more than 20 times and slit her throat.
Investigators also claim he forced her 13-year-old son to help him clean up the blood and then abducted and stabbed the boy, who survived the attack.
McKinney will be sentenced May 2nd.
