(RICHMOND) - More than 1,000 people saw the new documentary on the April 6th, 1968 double explosions in downtown Richmond titled “1:47” over the weekend at its black-tie premiere and three showings to the public at Indiana University East.
The documentary is about the natural gas and gunpowder blasts that nearly destroyed or heavily damaged dozens of businesses, and the heroic efforts made to find the 41 victims and rescue the survivors.
Writer-director Jean Harper says the documentary will be shown at the Richmond Art Museum over the next few weeks, and those times will be posted on the documentary's web site www.147film.com.
A DVD will be made for sale before Christmas and Harper's production team is making plans to enter "1:47" in the next Heartland Film Festival.
