(INDIANAPOLIS) - The Social Security numbers of more than 700,000 Hoosiers are now in criminal hands after thieves stole a computer server from an Indianapolis dept-collection bureau.
The stolen data included customer-billing records for about 100 Indiana businesses including Methodist Medical Group, St. Vincent health and Citizens Gas.
Officials are calling it the largest security breach ever in Indiana. The collection agency's president says the missing server was stored behind three locked doors. It was stolen during a break-in on March 20th.
Indianapolis Metro Police are investigating.
