(CARLISLE) - State police in the Terre Haute District are asking Hoosiers statewide for help with finding the drive responsible for putting a 5-year-old child in a coma.
State troopers say 5-year-old Codie Pusey of Carlisle was playing with other kids on his tricycle near his mailbox when a red 4-door car sped by and struck the child.
Pusey was rushed by his grandmother to Sullivan County Community Hospital where he was then airlifted to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
Reports say he suffered head, chest and internal injuries and is currently in a coma.
The offending vehicle is described as a red 4-door passenger car with some custom items on the lower body, fuzzy dice and loud exhaust, and most likely has front-end and possible windshield damage.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Terre Haute Post at (812) 299-1152.
