(UNDATED) - No health insurance can be a killer. That’s the message from a new report from healthcare watchdog group Families USA.
Director Ron Pollack says nine people in Indiana die every week from lack of health coverage.
Those who are uninsured forego preventative care, checkups, and screenings and don't fill prescriptions because of high costs.
Major diseases like cancer and heart disease go unattended until advanced stages which also reduces survival chances.
