(YORK, MONT.) - An Indianapolis man who built a retirement getaway in the Montana woods won’t have to worry that a forest fire will someday turn it into ashes.
That's because the walls of Marty Welch's four-bedroom retreat built two years ago are made out of concrete formed to look like hewn logs.
Welch, whose home is near the Helena National Forest, says he wanted a house that he wouldn't have to worry about during the fire season.
Welch is now retired as a regional sales manager for a tool company and divides his time between Indianapolis and York, Montana.
