(EVANSVILLE) - There are about four hundred Hoosier soldiers who would love to be “adopted” this Sunday.
Officials with the Southwestern Indiana chapter of the American Red Cross say volunteers will have cards with names and e-mails of soldiers for people to pick up as a part of their new Adopt-A-Soldier program.
Spokeswoman Emily Zander says you can also drop off items for Iraqi children. Zander says soldiers will distribute those items to kids throughout the war-torn nation.
Adopt-A-Soldier began in Georgia and is also being established in Fort Wayne and Muncie, Indiana.
