Hoosiers Wrap Arms Around Children In Need

Last updated on Tuesday, May 13, 2008

(KOKOMO) - There has been an outpouring of community support in the wake of a disturbing abuse case.

Two four-year-olds in Kokomo were removed from what officials call filthy conditions last week. Susan Tielking with the Department of Child Services says they are warmed to see so many people wanting to help, but says there are thousands of Hoosier kids who need help all over the state.

Tielking says it can be everything from toothbrushes and other toiletries to clothing to a teddy bear for a kid. Donations to the two children can be made through the family Service Association of Howard County. The "Kokomo Tribune" has set up a trust fund as well.

Tielking says statewide donations can be made through the Indiana Foster Care and Adoption Association. That number is 1-800-468-4228.
