(EVANSVILLE) - It was a busy morning for Evansville police after three men allegedly robbed a newspaper deliveryman and stole his vehicle.
Police officer Steve Green says the three young men approached the deliveryman, asked for the time, then pulled guns and demanded money. After robbing him, they took his Chevy S-10 pickup and fled.
Green says an officer spotted the truck a few minutes later and pulled it over. The men jumped out and took off.
Green says one of them ditched a weapon near Howard Roosa School and that led to keeping the kids inside the school this morning. Green says the weapon was found.
He says one of the suspects was nabbed quickly near the railroad tracks on Highway 41. The others were found a little later with a K-9 taking a chunk out of one of them. The other surrendered peacefully.
