(INDIANAPOLIS) - Another study ranks Central Indiana near the bottom when it comes to health and fitness.
The American College of Sports Medicine ranked the top 16 metro areas in a pilot study. Indianapolis ranks #12. The goal is to take the data back to the cities on the list and encourage more wellness programs.
Dr. Wes Wong with Anthem-Blue Cross/Blue Shield says Central Indiana is still struggling with poor eating habits, high obesity rates, and high numbers of low birth-weight babies the healthiest city on the survey is San Francisco.
Chicago ranks #7 on the list. Detroit is at the bottom. The ACSM hopes to expand the survey to the 50 largest U.S. cities.
