(ANDERSON) - It’s considered to be an honorable ending to the life of old and tattered American flags. Tonight, those flags that have seen better days, will be burned during a ceremony in Anderson.
The city's American Legion will host the event which starts with a prayer and ends with a 21-gun salute.
The group has already collected thousands of flags that will be retired tonight.
The ceremony takes place at 1600 South Rangeline Road.
