(FRANKLIN) - Johnson County’s emergency management director says damage in his county alone could hit $200-million dollars.
Tug Sutton joined Governor Daniels in a tour of the flood-damaged Parkside Apartments near Franklin College. But Sutton says there's damage from county line to county line. "We've got 27 roads closed or affected. We've got 36 culverts gone, we've got 15 bridges gone, we've got probably four county buildings terribly affected, we've got the Franklin police department (building) pretty much destroyed," Sutton said.
Sutton says residents should go ahead and get started on repairs, while saving receipts for reimbursement after an expected federal disaster declaration.
Daniels made stops in Hope and Spencer, and in Moscow, where a tornado destroyed the town's century-old covered bridge.
