(INDIANAPOLIS) - An Indianapolis man has been charged with murder after an argument in may that resulted in the death of an IndyCar Series crew member.
James P. Brackin faces a charge of murder in relation to the death of 63 year-old Davey Evans, a crew member with Newman-Haas Lanigan Racing.
According to police reports, the fight occurred at a bar on the Westside of Indianapolis May 4th, starting inside and moving outside where witnesses say Brackin kicked Evans in the head.
Evans died of a stroke following the incident. He had been a racing mechanic for four decades.
