(INDIANAPOLIS) - The Tibetan freedom torch is in the Hoosier state.
The torch was created after Tibet was not allowed to have an Olympic team compete in the Beijing Olympics.
International Tibet Independence Movement President Larry Gerstein says the torch was lit in March in Olympia, Greece, and has traveled the world.
Two of the Dalai Lama's nephews will ride bikes from Monument Circle and carry the torch to Bloomington, where they will present it to their father, the Dalai Lama's oldest brother.
Gerstein says it's too late for a Tibetan Olympic team, so activists are focusing on preventing the Olympic torch from being carried through Tibet. Gerstein feels riots and upheaval will ensue if it is.
