(FISHERS) - The latest in a series of forums on rapid transit throughout the nine-county Central Indiana area was held in Fishers Monday evening.
Planners have been giving presentations of various options being considered for public transportation, including a recommendation already on the table for a diesel light rail line between Noblesville and Downtown Indianapolis.
Other options include buses, an elevated electric line, trains and electric light rail. Walking, biking and carpooling are also recommended to ease the overcrowding on area roadways.
Attendance at the forums has drastically increased since gas prices started to soar.
Concerns expressed by some who attended the meeting were what a rail line will do to property values, will it be as noisy as the state fair train and how do riders get around in Downtown Indy once they reach their destination at Union Station.
