(UNDATED) - A city official in Evansville says the Metropolitan Bus System has already used up its budget for fuel this year.
In Bloomington, rising diesel fuel costs have led the Indiana University campus bus service to cut weekend, class break and holiday hours by more than half.
The Evansville bus system is coping with the depletion of its fuel budget with a transfer of $180,000 from the city's general fund into a bus line account.
The move was approved this week by the city council.
