(INDIANAPOLIS) - The fireworks celebration at the Regions Bank building in Downtown Indianapolis draws thousands from across Central Indiana. But state police have a warning: don’t stop and gawk on the interstate.
Spokesman Dave Bursten says people try to catch the fireworks while driving on I-65 and I-70. Unless you have an emergency, stopping to watch is an $150 fine.
Bursten says it's best to plan ahead and find somewhere else to catch the display - it can be seen for miles.
