(INDIANAPOLIS) - Competing Indianapolis hospitals are teaming up to help abused and neglected children.
The new child protection center is open at Peyton Manning Children's Hospital at St. Vincent in a partnership with Riley Hospital For Children.
Services include specialized medical exams and evidence collection along with training on recognizing abuse and neglect.
Dr. Roberta Hibbard with Riley Hospital For Children says she's often asked about the competition between the two hospitals. She says there is no competition when it comes to taking care of and protecting children.
Sister Catherine Kelly of the Daughters of Charity Foundation presented St. Vincent with a check for $400,000 dollars to make the center a reality. The foundation also received a grant from the Duke Energy Foundation.
