Last updated on Tuesday, July 8, 2008

(ANDERSON) - Anderson police are looking for a man who allegedly threatened his attorney with a knife and took his car.

The attorney was returning Richard Hudson to jail in Anderson after a court appearance in Indianapolis on a civil matter. The attorney, whose name wasn't released, told police that, as they arrived in Anderson, Hudson pulled a knife and held it to his throat. He then forced him to drive to the Rangeline Nature Preserve in Madison County.

The attorney says Hudson tied his hands and feet then took his wallet and fled in his SUV, a 2007 red or burgundy Ford Escape with an Indiana plate " RK 114" , which is a Riley Hospital license plate.

The attorney managed to stop a passing motorist and call for help.

Police say Richard Hudson should be considered armed and dangerous. He's described as a white male, age 52, 5'-10, 140 pounds with blue eyes, brown hair and a full "salt & pepper " beard. Anyone with information is asked to call the Anderson police department detective division at (765) 648-6730 or police dispatch at (765) 648-6775.

The attorney was not injured.
