Police: Don't Leave Kids Or Pets Inside Vehicles

Last updated on Monday, July 21, 2008

(UNDATED) - With high humidity and temperatures in the 90’s, the Indiana State Police have a friendly reminder. Don’t leave your kids or pets in the car even for a short period.

When the outside temperature is 80-100 degrees, a vehicle parked in direct sunlight can reach 131-172 degrees inside.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says about 25 children die each year as a result of being left or becoming trapped in hot vehicles.
