(COLUMBIA CITY) - Health officials say a bat found biting a feeder calf at the Whitley County 4-H fair has tested positive for rabies.
The Indiana State Board of Animal Health received the positive test results this week.
A feeder calf is fed hay or grain until it reaches market weight, at which point it is sold for its meat. The owner intends to destroy the calf.
Officials said fair participants and visitors face no imminent danger.
