(INDIANAPOLIS) - A longtime advocate for the needy in Indianapolis has died. 93-year-old Lucious Newsome passed away Monday night after battling cancer.
Newsome has been feeding the hungry for 20 years. Newsom ran a makeshift food bank in vacant lots and on street corners, handing out food and household items he solicited from area businesses.
Newsom founded "Anna's House" which offers groceries to the needy, an after-school healthy snack program and also serves as a medical and dental clinic.
